Astell&Kern held its first launch event in Hong Kong to unveil the new A&ultima SP4000T and the new IEM
Clarus. It was a special time in which we could share the development philosophy behind the product and
the story of its sound with fans in the closest possible setting.
Thanks to the many people who filled the venue, this moment marking Astell&Kern's new journey was made
all the more meaningful. We deeply thank everyone who took precious time to grace the occasion.
What was most meaningful at this event was that we could personally introduce the development story of the SP4000T—something a spec sheet alone can never fully convey. We shared with fans, face to face, the repeated deliberation and refinement it took to complete a single sound, and the relentless sound philosophy of Astell&Kern embedded within it.
The SP4000T is a flagship that brings together the technical expertise and sensibility that Astell&Kern has accumulated over many years. The analog sound unique to vacuum tubes and precisely engineered digital circuitry harmonize within a single device, allowing users to freely shape the tone they desire. At the event, we demonstrated this SP4000T-exclusive sound in person and let attendees confirm its true worth.
Clarus is an IEM that faithfully inherits Astell&Kern's sound philosophy. It was born at the end of a journey toward the meaning held within the brand name 'Astell'—that is, 'the sound of stars.' True to its name, it pursues clarity (Clarus), capturing the inherent detail and sense of space of music just as it is, from the deepest lows to the most delicate highs.
The response from those who listened to the SP4000T and Clarus paired together was especially enthusiastic. The moment when attendees experienced with their own ears—not through words or photos—the sound completed when an earphone sharing the same philosophy meets a flagship source was, above all, invaluable.
