KANN CUBE v1.12

[Added features in firmware 1.12]

1. Added Car Mode function

Car Mode can be activated by pressing the Car Mode icon in the notification panel.

2. Added EQ Sync function

EQ settings can be saved by the user and shared with other KANN CUBE devices.

- Please note: If file name is changed outside of player, new device will not recognize EQ file.

When upgrading firmware on Astell&Kern devices, please note the following.

1. Firmware Upgrade Requirements

- Verify your device has at least 50% charge before beginning upgrade.

- Your device must have at least 500MB of internal memory free space.

- After upgrade, your device settings may be reset and need to be configured again.

- Unexpected power off during the upgrade process may result in corruption to system software and cause the device to be unstable or malfunction.

- We recommend you back up any files on the device to your computer before performing upgrade.

2. Notes on connecting Wi-Fi

- Wi-Fi name (SSID) supports only alphanumeric characters. For other languages, please change device to English and enter SSID.

- Confirm you are connected to a stable Wi-Fi access point. If the Wi-Fi internet connection is unstable or disconnects during the upgrade process, the device may malfunction.

3. How to upgrade the firmware

- Check for firmware updates by accessing Settings -> Update -> System Update on your KANN CUBE.

4. Rough operation including repeatedly pushing physical buttons or using excessive press on touchscreen may result in malfunction or damage to your device.

* If your device cannot be upgraded over WiFi, please update firmware manually using the procedure below.

[Manual Firmware Upgrade Method]

- Please fully read these instructions before attempting firmware upgrade.

- Confirm firmware file has been fully downloaded successfully before attempting to apply firmware update.

- After copying firmware file to your device, please safely disconnect from your computer before attempting firmware update. Failure to do so may cause firmware file corruption and may cause damage to KANN CUBE.

[How to Install KANN CUBE Firmware Update]

01. Click "KANN_CUBE_v1.12.zip" to download the firmware file.

02. Extract the update.hex file from the zip file using a file extractor program such as Winzip, 7zip, or Mac Archive Utility. Once extracted, do not attempt to further extract the update.hex file.

03. Connect the KANN CUBE product to a computer.

04. For Windows-based computers, KANN CUBE will automatically be recognized as a removeable drive. For MacOS-based computers, a third-party File Manager program that supports Android devices is required such as Android File Transfer (www.android.com/filetransfer) or Commander One Pro (mac.eltima.com/file-manager.html).

05. Copy the update.hex file to the root folder of KANN CUBE internal memory (My Computer - KANN CUBE - Internal Storage).

(You must save the firmware file to internal memory and not an external memory card.)

06. Confirm the file copy has completed, then safely remove KANN CUBE from your computer.

07. Press OK to confirm you would like to apply the new firmware update. The firmware upgrade will start and the device will reboot.
